The cardigan, glasses and bun--I'm not kidding when I say I've been stopped by strangers on the street telling me I'm the quintessential librarian. But as much as the aesthetic works, knitting needles does not a librarian make (though I do own a pair or two). I'm passionate about teaching critical information literacy skills that enable lifelong learning and easier navigation through the extensive web of information. My current outlet for this is as the Instructor and Outreach Librarian at Central Oregon Community College in beautiful Bend, OR. My favorite part of the job is learning something new along with the patron, and being equally as excited about the topic as the person I'm helping. In my spare time, I am the typical Bendite--running, hiking and down-hill skiing--I try to take advantage of everything Central Oregon has to offer.
